How might we empower children to recognize and deconstruct hidden gender biases in educational images?
A collective play activity about gender and images for classrooms and families to learn how to decrypt harmful images and reconstruct balanced and plural representations independently. It is developed in Italian elementary school classrooms and after-school programs and co-created with children towards self-representation. The project's ultimate goal is to give children the opportunity to understand stereotypical images and build new and plural ones critically.
